About the property
All the "deets" not in the Zillow ad!: Bright and spacious Pueblo West home (separate town than Pueblo, quiet, less crowded, safer w/ minimal crime compared to Pueblo 40 min from Ft. Carson, 45 to CO Springs) , with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, deck, heating and A/C, on-demand tankless h20 heater. Upstairs, the master bedroom has new laminate wood floors replacing the carpet, and sports a 5-suite bath--his and hers sinks with long counter and extended mirror encircled by illuminating "star" dressing room lighting, full two-person-capable jacuzzi tub, enclosed sliding door shower and new toilet as of 2023 (this item replaced in all 3 bathrooms!); Master also boasts a large walk-in closet for a his side/her side and plenty of shoe space!). With enough room to change in and a door, keeps the kids at bay ;-) with a door also between the bath and bedroom. A high arched/semi-circular window near the top of the vaulted ceiling and over the French-style doors in the master bedroom allows tons of natural light from the front side of the home to warm and light the space through the day.
Two smaller bedrooms off the main suite have been painted as a girl's room (pink & grey) and a boy's room (asphalt grey and light grey) with a shared bath in between (not connected and neutral), and have kept the carpeting for children's play on floor and for warmth as these rooms are the only ones with single pane windows left (plus the small bath windows).
Downstairs the kitchen is modern with a set of all new, black Samsung appliances in 2023, (a total of $8K dollars replacing old 90s style mismatched appliances there prior). The refrigerator is especially a smart device with digital screen for setting shopping lists, watching your favorite show on the TV screen included, various music apps for when you need to jam while cooking in the kitchen!) All of the downstairs windows in the home have been replaced with dual pane Pella or Anderson windows (only exception is a single slider door, which still works but is just older--all lowering the heating bill by more than half from before replacement). A 75-inch, black Samsung TV was mounted on the family room wall where a vaulted ceiling rises, making the sound and viewing a spacious experience. Included by owner to go with all Samsung appliances that can all be connected with Samsung Smart things and work with Alexa.
Washer and Dryer were new in 2018 (originally gas, but were converted to propane with adapters (tank out back, which is cheaper over time than natural gas--but the home is capable of going on to gas as it's in the area, if you choose!), and have been included by the owner as well - also Samsung brand).
Lastly, but most important, the owner removed the oversized tank water heater and replaced it with a $7k tankless on-demand water heater. Owner has left workbenches in the garage for a handyman to use, and a metal tool chest. Large yard for dogs to run, two garden beds, chain link back fence to make the back yard feel bigger and see the deer grazing in the strip behind the running trail that the back gate opens up to. Running trail is fully paved and makes a great 3.6 mile loop back to the house. Owner also installed an in-wall, double-flap dog door at the west end of the house going out to the newly resurfaced deck. Little dog was 10lbs and could go through fine as well as my 70-lb dog.
Terrific to-knows nearby:
Pueblo West Safety/Crime:
Pueblo West, an unincorporated area, is noted for its quiet residential feel, and is generally considered much safer than the city of Pueblo, featuring significantly lower crime rates and a more peaceful, suburban environment.
Health/Fitness/Recreation (Pueblo Reservoir!!!)
A fitness Gym is walking distance from this house, and the fitness trail running throughout Pueblo West is awesome for early morning runs or even after dark I felt safe, but SAHM with strollers will love this, or for whole family walks on the weekend. You will see deer and maybe coyotes running off. (The trail runs down to Pueblo West High School at bottom of hill for older students).
I've taken the trail on my Mtn Bike all the way down to Pueblo Reservoir (15-20m ride) which is a phenomenal place to swim in the summer, w/ trails all about for different hikes and trail runs, and the boating/fishing and camping are really popular.
Top Rated Schools in Pueblo West
Swallows Charter Academy (K-12): Frequently ranked as a top public charter school in Pueblo County with a focus on preparing students for college.
Pueblo County High School: Recognized as a top public high school in the county, serving the Pueblo West area.
Pueblo West High School: A major district high school in Pueblo County School District 70.
Cedar Ridge Elementary School: Often cited as a high-performing elementary school in the area.
Sierra Vista Elementary School: A highly regarded elementary school in the district.
PWest has its own library with lots of events and videos/DVDs as well as books.
Regular Farmers markets were happening in the spring and summer months at the playground/park plaza near the library where summer community BBQs and fun concert were held too.
Restaurants:
A block away, the Buckshot Bar and Grill's 16-Gauge burger is the BEST we've ever had (this was in 2024)
and the 'slopper' was my son's absolute favorite, along with the Blue Cheese Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Prime Rib night = great! A huge Walmart is right down the street, several other restaurants including the family fun spot, Copper River with mini bowling, arcade area, live bands with line dancing, trivia games and mini golf outside. Pueblo West is such a great environment for young families (especially military if you work at Carson, Schriever, or Peterson and don't want to pay the almost-California prices to live in Springs). If you're interested? Call me, Andrea, direct at (707) 342-4343. I'm out at Vandenberg now in central CA.
